By Laurel Blomquist | On Saturday, June 23rd, Gwenyn Hill Farm made our debut at the Brookfield Farmers Market. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. The day started out cool and breezy, in the low 60s. As the morning went on, it topped off in the mid-70s. This was perfect for casual strolls through the market, which offers fresh produce as well ready-to-eat items for market visitors. You can see a list of all the vendors at:

Many of the people who shop at this market are regulars. Several times, people stopped, did a double-take, and asked, “Is this your first time at this market? I’ve never seen you before.” Many more people gave us compliments on our beautiful produce and display. Some folks, already armed with vegetables, told us that they would make us their first stop the following week. The other vendors greeted us warmly and helped us put our tent up.
The market has a wonderful vibe, with musicians scattered throughout. Every 3rd weekend of the month, the market becomes “Market and More” with lots of arts and crafts vendors to tempt shoppers. The dates for the remainder of the season are: 7/21, 8/18, 9/15, and 10/20. Market hours are 7:30 am until 12 noon.
The day ended on a positive note, with satisfied shoppers and farmers alike. We had a great time our first time out and are looking forward to seeing more shoppers at the market every Saturday from now through the end of October.
