6pm – 8pm
Williams Barn at Gwenyn Hill Farm
N130W294, Bryn Dr, Waukesha, WI 53188

Individual/small group sessions: choose from Wednesday, March 1, 6-8pm; Saturday, March 4, 9am – 1pm, or Wednesday, March 8, 6-8pm  @ Lost Art Fiber and Textile Studio (519 Wisconsin Ave. Waukesha)

Participants will schedule a 1-hour private or small group session with instructor Nancy Wilson to get the basics of spinning on a wheel before gathering together for a group class where we will get the chance to try different spinning wheels and troubleshoot our techniques. There will also be the opportunity to sign up for additional practice time at the farm.

Each person will be given 2 oz. of roving to use for spinning in addition to any wool prepared in previous sessions. Feel free to bring in any other fibers that you’d like to try! If you have your own wheel, please bring that as well. Some spinners also like to have a lap towel or apron to protect their clothes from stray fibers. A small number of wheels will be available for purchase during the group class.

Workshop participants are also invited to attend the Common Threads meetup on Wednesday, March 15, 6pm – 8pm, at Gwenyn Hill Farm. Common Threads is a social gathering of like-minded fiber arts people of all skill levels. It is a free, monthly meetup on the third Wednesday of every month that began with Nancy Wilson and her group at Lost Art Fiber Studio in Waukesha.

This is the third class in our Wool to Wear series. Purchase tickets for the full 5-class series here.
