Learn the basics of weaving on a 4-shaft floor loom and rigid heddle loom. We will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of each type of loom and give participants the opportunity to practice tapestry weaving on their own personal frame loom that can be used again and again! Participants will be provided with wool yarn from GH to learn the basics of weaving. Handspun yarn from previous workshops can also be used.

Participants are invited to expand their knowledge of this process by signing up for use of the floor loom or renting a rigid heddle loom for further practice.

*Workshop participants are also invited to attend the Common Threads meetup on Wednesday, May 17, 6pm – 8pm, at a location to be announced. Common Threads is a social gathering of like-minded fiber arts people of all skill levels. It is a free, monthly meetup on the third Wednesday of every month that began with Nancy Wilson and her group at Lost Art Fiber Studio in Waukesha.

This is the fifth and final class in our Wool to Wear series. Purchase tickets for the full 5-class series here.
