Participants will have the opportunity to use a variety of tools ranging from hand cards and combs to drum carders and blending boards used to combine fibers and produce unique color combinations.

Learn how to card, comb, and flick your fleece to prepare roving and top for spinning. We will discuss each method and how they produce different types of yarn. Participants will have the opportunity to use a variety of tools ranging from hand cards and combs to drum carders and blending boards used to combine fibers and produce unique color combinations.  

Workshop participants are also invited to attend the Common Threads meetup* on Wednesday, Feb.15, 6pm – 8pm, at the Waukesha Public Library.

All materials included. A variety of  tools will be available for use and a small number of hand cards will be available for purchase. Feel free to bring in your own hand cards, combs, or other equipment if you have them!

*Common Threads is a social gathering of like-minded fiber arts people of all skill levels. It is a free, monthly meetup on the third Wednesday of every month. It began with Nancy Wilson and her group at Lost Art Fiber Studio in Waukesha and has evolved to take place at the Waukesha Public Library and other local outdoor venues.
